Mine was a metalic black 1977 Kawasaki z650 with a 4 into 1. Couldn't afford proper gear but did manage to have an Arai helmet. Rode it to a rally at Mudgee, my first trip away on a bike.

Honda parallel twin that I bought as a box of bits. It was either a 250cc or 350 cc, we never did figure that out. 1972 (so it was a lot older than that) before I had my licence and my Dad and I (mostly my Dad) put it together and it worked!!!! Got my licence in Carnarvon on that bike. Don't recall what happened to it or how long I had it.

Road it for about an hour ..... then they caught me.
And rest as they say is history.

Honda 750/4 unlicenced around the back roads between Bannockburn and Anakie 1974. Got it up to 100mph and thought this is more dangerous than parachuting, so went back and continued jumping. GD

My first bike was a puch maxi. My Dad hated motorbikes so I bought all i could afford. It was 1976 and most of my friends had RD 250s their parents bought them. I ended up with an xs250 that spent more time at the shop than I ever used it. Had the last laugh 40years later in Aus. Honda VTR250, Honda VFR 800 (great bike), Honda CBR 1100 XX blackbird, then my best buy ever the BMW R1200RT. Expensive but a dream to ride and own
