Surprisingly few turned out for today, it was low teens and the sun did break through the cloud cover often enough to justify putting the sunglasses on for riding. Didn't even have the liner or neck warmer (thank you Cindy) on. So, Andrew and Julie led off with Greg Parry, David & Cindy, Chris on the wing, the other Chris on his new Spyder following, and me bringing up the rear. Back roads through Emerald to Healsville for morning tea, and still low teens. The spur to just short of Alexandra and onto the Whanregarwen Road for a while. It did get chilly with the temperature dropping to 5 degrees between Narbethong till about Archeron, where we plunged into mist (In pilot talk it would be fog, but in motorists speak, it was certainly mist). However, not long after we got onto the Whanregawen Rd, the sun came out & the temperature climbed rapidly. BTW, that is a really nice piece of road. Mostly single track, but open and fast. Into Yea for lunch and Andrew had booked a table at Marmalades which is a converted Commercial Store open in 1881. It has a lot of the original fittings, counter tops and maybe even floorboards, but the attraction for the girls was the open fire. There is also a kiddies area with a TV and some toys which someone disgracefully wrote on. Excellent Beer battered chips..... Home through Murrindindi, the chocolate factory in Yarra Glen, Coldstream, Mount Dandenong and Olinda (Hill Climbs....Woo Hoo) & Kallista back to Berwick. 300 Kms for the day and back in Berwick at 4. An excellent day out, thank you to Andrew & Julie who put a lot of effort into this day.

Congratulations Andrew on your first time leading a ride. You had a very calm and confident approach and though we've been many times to Yea, you managed to find a real gem at Marmalades. (Yes no apostrophe) www.marmalades.com.au/I'm sure we will find our way back there again. Well done on your first of many. Great to see Chris G getting acquainted with his new spider. Overall a great day and a final thanks to Dean our TEC for the day.
